Sport in Cameroon
Five Africa Cup of Nations titles, eight World Cups and an Olympic gold medal in 2000: the Indomitable Lions have made Cameroon one of the great nations of African football. But Cameroonian sport goes further. The volleyball Lionesses have been African champions three times, Françoise Mbango Etone won two Olympic titles, and the Race of Hope, created in 1973, sends hundreds of runners up Mount Cameroon.
Honours, records, coaches, clubs, stadiums and federations: the figures come from the federations, CAF, FIFA, results databases such as RSSSF and Olympedia, and the sports press.

Our method
Every figure in this section comes from a source listed at the bottom of the page: official texts, government bodies, specialist organisations, the Cameroonian press and international organisations. Fees, timescales and results change often, so they are always dated. When sources disagree, we say so rather than pick one.
