The engineer who fitted the electrocardiogram into a tablet
Born in 1987
Who are they?
A computer engineer born in 1987, a graduate of the National Advanced School of Engineering in Yaoundé. He founded the company Himore Medical to manufacture and distribute his invention, the Cardiopad.
What made them famous
The Cardiopad, a touchscreen medical tablet, makes it possible to record an electrocardiogram far from hospital and send it over the mobile network to a cardiologist who reads it remotely. It addresses a shortage of specialists: in 2014 its inventor pointed out that Cameroon had fewer than fifty cardiologists for more than twenty million people.
